Amid the news that the group Aespa will appear on Waterbomb, there are voices of concern about Ningning, who can barely see one eye.

On June 5, the festival ‘Water Bomb Seoul 2023 (hereinafter referred to as ‘Water Bomb’) announced on its official social media that Aespa will appear this year. Waterbomb is the largest music and water-themed festival in Korea, where water showers fall and audiences shoot water guns at artists.

Fans are worried that Ningning will be shot in the eye.

In an interview with the fashion magazine ‘Vogue China’ in March, Ningning revealed her poor eye condition by bringing out eye drops that she usually carries.

She said, "I had surgery once when I was little, so I can barely see my right eye. So I carry eye drops so that my eyes are not too dry" ,she said. According to Chinese media, Ningning suffers from Acanthamoeba keratitis.

Acanthamoeba keratitis is a disease in which acanthamoeba , a type of protozoan, penetrates the cornea and causes inflammation. It is infected through tap water, swimming pool water, river water, and seawater. Acanthamoeba keratitis is a rare disease and can lead to impaired vision during infection or blindness in severe cases.

At the previous ‘Water Bomb’, several stars complained that they were in pain when the audience poured a heavy water gun attack on their faces. (G)I-DLE Jeon So-yeon also made a comment during the performance, asking, "Please don’t shoot eyes".

Meanwhile, the ‘Water Bomb’ will run from June 23 to 25, and a large number of famous artists such as singers Jay Park, Zico, Sunmi, Simon Dominic, Jessi, Swings, HyunA and Loco will appear.
