Danielle to dub Ariel for 'The Little Mermaid'

Danielle of NewJeans has been selected as the main character of the Korean dub version of the film ‘The Little Mermaid’ She plays the main character 'Ariel' as a voice actor.

On May 12 Walt Disney Korea said, "Daniel will play the role of 'Ariel' and perform voice acting, and singing." She will show a different side of her".

Disney Korea was cast through an audition at the headquarters. 

An official explained, "Daniel was finally decided after an impromptu singing and dialogue test at the audition site".

Then said, "It was not an easy challenge to perform Korean songs and lines in line with the English mouth shape and timing of 'Ariel', but it drew a good response from officials".

According to the agency, Danielle made every effort to challenge her new field of musical singing and dubbing.She practiced repeatedly from the audition preparation stage and did her best.

An official said, "Danielle is similar in age to Ariel in the movie and has a cheerful image", adding, "She will make the most of the charm of a bright and curious teenage girl".

Walt Disney Korea also unveiled Daniel's still cut. The visual of a real mermaid stood out. The sky blue dress and large earrings gave off a mysterious aura.

Meanwhile, ‘The Little Mermaid’ is a musical film that is a real-life Disney animation. It is the story of Ariel (Halle Bailey), who falls in love and admires the human world. It will be released on May 24.
