On the afternoon of May 10th, SM Entertainment announced on the Red Velvet fan website that "Wendy underwent a rapid antigen test due to her poor condition today and the test result came back positive for COVID-19."
Wendy will be canceling all planned schedules as she is currently in isolation and receiving treatment at home. She will also be unfit to feature in SBS Power FM's 'Wendy's Young Street' radio show. The agency stated, "We will prioritize Wendy’s health and safety in support for her full recovery."
Red Velvet is currently in the midst of their global tour, with upcoming performances in Thailand on May 13th and 14th. Due to health reasons, Red Velvet’s Joy has already suspended her activities and the remaining four members are continuing with their schedule. With Wendy being tested positive for Covid, the global tour has been put on hold.
