On April 19th, BTS released a video titled "J-Hope's Enlistment News with BTS" on their official YouTube channel. The video shows the site of J-Hope’s enlistement, with all members of BTS gathered to send him off.
The video was taken on April 18th at the Army Training Center of the 6th Infantry Division in Gangwon Province. In the clip, J-Hope encourages Suga who will soon be releasing his solo album and begin his world tour by saying, “Yoon-Gi, do your best.”
J-Hope was captured continuously touching his short hair but smiling brightly for the camera. He says, “it looks cooler than I thought.” Jimin complimented J-Hope by saying, “it actually looks good on you” and hugged him tightly.
J-Hope said, "I only slept around 3 hours and drank coffee on an empty stomach", and to this, Jungkook laughed as he said, "It's funny how it feels so emotional when Hobi hyung (brother) is going to the army.”
RM revealed that he had drunk alcohol the night before by saying, "It's sad that Hobi is going to the army", and then hugged J-Hope, complimenting his short hair. RM could not hide his bitter expression and said, “it feels weird.”
J-Hope said, "But I'm going at a good time in the spring season where it is not too cold" and added, "I was lucky."
Then, fellow member Jin appears who is currently serving as an instructor at the military base. J-Hope immediately saluted Jin and the other members burst out into laughter.
Finally, the video ended with J-Hope’s message to fans. He said, “To all ARMYs! This is my final call. I am going in. As a healthy young man of the Republic of Korea, I will fulfill my military duty and come back to meet you as good as ever. Fighting! I love you."
With Jin’s enlistment last year, followed by J-Hope, it is known that the other members of BTS will be enlisting sequentially to fulfill their mandatory military service.
