Astro’s Moonbin has left our side and the music industry is engulfed in sorrow as they mourn in their own ways for the passing of late Moonbin of boy band Astro.
Known as 1998 born friends in the industry, Seventeen’s Boo Seungkwan paid his respect to his friend by following Moonbin’s personal Instagram account. Seungkwan had only been following other Seventeen members, but added Moonbin to his list as he mourned for the sudden death of his friend.
K-pop idol fans who had known of their friendship comforted Seungkwan by saying, “it seems like Seungkwan’s own way of handling his grief.”
Monsta X’s Hyungwon, Kihyun and I.M also expressed their grief as they turned up at Incheon International airport wearing black suits before departure.
The MCs of Mnet's ‘M Countdown’ music program were also dressed in black. Monsta X’s Joohoney said, “our good friend who shared his ups and downs with us has become a star in the sky”, expressing his condolences. His eyes were seemingly red and puffy. Unlike its usual vibe, the broadcast continued in a calm atmosphere, without an encore stage or interviews of comeback artists.
Across the nation, schedules have been postponed. BTS’ Suga postponed his fan signing event which had been planned for April 21st. BTOB also suspended the release of their new album’s promotion vontencts. Singer and actress IU requested to postpone the release of a press conference for the upcoming movie ‘Dream.’
Boy band Astro members are all gathered at the wake. Jinjin and San-Ha have been guarding the wake since yesterday, together with MJ who has taken an emergency leave from his military duty. Cha eun-Woo who was on holiday in the US rushed back to Korea in the afternoon to stay by late Moonbin’s side.
