On April 19th, BTS’ J-Hope confirmed that he will be spending his first week of military service in a quarantine facility.
J-Hope enlisted in the 36th Division training center for new recruits in Sokcho-myeon, Wonju-si, Gangwon Province. Sports World reported that prior to basic military training, J-Hope and 208 other recruits were required to undergo COVID-19 testing. Recruits who enlisted on the same day will spend one week in quarantine facilities until the test results come back. If the results are negative, they will then move on to receive five weeks of basic military training, to focus on shooting, chemical and biological warfare training, mental resilience, individual combat and endure a 20km march. After completing the five-week military education, they will be assigned to a unit and continue their military service.
J-Hope is the second BTS member after Jin to have enlisted to serve his mandatory military service. J-Hope is expected to be discharged on October 17th next year.
