The sincerity of the enthusiastic basketball fan worked. BTS’s Suga has been selected as a global Ambassador for the U.S. NBA. 

NBA reported Suga's Global Ambassador news on its official social media at 2 p.m. on April 6 (Korea Standard Time). It was welcomed with the "SUGAxNBA" hashtag.

There was also an interview with Suga. "It's an honor because I really liked basketball since I was young," Suga said. "I'll show you a lot of new things with NBA in the future." 

Suga's love for basketball is special. The stage name "Suga" was also named after the position "Shooting Guard" in the basketball team when he was a student.

He also often visited NBA stadiums. In January, he watched a game in LA, California, USA. He also met NBA superstar Luka Doncic and took pictures there. 

During his visit to Japan in September last year, he also met Stephen Curry, a "three-point shooter." Curry is also Suga's fan. Curry presented Suga with a signed uniform and basketball shoes. Suga also presented the BTS album.

Meanwhile, Suga will release his solo album ‘D-Day’ on April 21. 

On the same day, a ‘Suga: Road to D-DAY’ documentary containing Suga's new album will also be released on Disney+ and Weverse.
