BTS’ J-Hope will release a new solo single 'On the Street' (with J. Cole) on March 3rd at 14:00 (KST).
An official from the agency said, “J-Hope’s positive vibes and J. Cole’s dynamic rapping is well harmonized in the upcoming release. The lyrics portray a message J-Hope would like to send out to fans.”
J. Cole is an American rapper and producer, who also holds six albums that ranked first on the Billboard main album chart 'Billboard 200.' Last year, J. Cole and J-Hope are known to have first met at Lollapalooza.
'On the Street' is of a hip hop genre, with an easy-to-listen melody and warm lyrics. J-Hope produced the song and wrote the lyrics himself. He took the streets as a motive for the song, where people walk, breathe and feel various emotions. The ‘street’ is also a space that has a special meaning to J-Hope.
A representative from the agency said, "Street dance is the starting point and root of J-Hope as an artist. It is therefore the source of inspiration that made him dream, and continue to dream.”
In the meantime, J-Hope has announced that he will soon be enlisting for his military service. He is the second runner up after Jin, the eldest member of BTS enlisted in December last year.
