On February 20th, Adore announced that New Jeans’ debut album ‘New Jeans’ has sold a total of 1,036,811 copies, as of February 11th. According to circle chart, since 2011, this is the first group to have sold over 1 million copies of their debut album.
Adore said, "New Jeans has achieved the title of a 'Million Seller', without and previews or excess teaser contents.”
During the first week after its release, New Jeans’ debut album sold out over 300,000 copies, setting a new record amongst k-pop groups. Within just three weeks of its release, the group sold over 1 million copies, boasting their phenomenal growth.
Along with the high sales of their album, the rankings are soaring high. ‘Ditto’, ‘OMG’ and ‘Hype Boy’ are all ranked in the top 3 on the weekly charts of domestic music charts including Melon, Genie and Bugs.
Recently, in January 2023, New Jeans positioned six of their songs in the Top 400 list of the Circle Index, taking up a combined share of 8.7% in the charts.
New Jeans are also doing well on global charts. On Billboard’s main single chart ‘Hot 100’, ‘Ditto’ and ‘OMG’ ranked high on the charts for five consecutive weeks. ‘OMG’ set the highest record for the girl group by ranking 74th last week. In addition, ‘OMG’ has climbed higher week by week on Spotify’s ‘Weekly Top Song’ chart, ranking 14th (as of February 16th), with ‘Ditto’ ranking 25th.
