“A precious new life has come to us.” (Song Joong-Ki)
On the morning of January 30th, Song Joong-Ki revealed in a personally written statement to fans that he had registered his marriage with his now wife Katy Louise Saunders. He also announced that the couple are expecting a baby.
"I have sworn to spend the rest of my life with Katy today. In fact, I am writing this on my way back from registering my marriage."
Song Joong-Ki and Katy reportedly enjoyed their holiday in Italy after filming for 'Vincenzo.’ Although there were rumors that Katy was Song Joong-Ki’s Italian teacher for the drama Vincenzo, it is yet to be confirmed.
Last Spring, Katy came to Korea with Song Joong-Ki. At the time, the two lived together in Song Joong-Ki’s villa located in Hannam-dong. The two were frequently seen on casual dates such as grocery shopping together in the neighborhood, without being conscious of others.
Song Joong-Ki surely did his best to ensure that Katy's life in Korea was convenient in every way. Since he had to leave the house due to filming, he even arranged a personal English-Korean interpreter to follow Katy’s footsteps and help her settle down.
Song Joong-Ki also invited Katy’s parents to Korea when he found out she was pregnant, and currently, Katy and her family members are happily jamming together in Song’s 20 billion KRW (approximately 16 million USD) house located in Itaewon.
Recently, 'Dispatch' captured Katy and her mother preparing for the baby. Earlier in January, Katy was spotted at the Bonpoint store in Dosan Park, looking at baby products with her mother.
Song Joong-Ki expressed his love in the statement by saying, “I wished to build a happy family with Katy.”
In the meantime, Song Joong-Ki is planning to hold a small and private wedding ceremony with Katy. The date and venue have not yet been confirmed but it would not be an understatement to say that Song Joong-Ki is already enjoying his honeymoon at his Itaewon home with his wife and family.
