New Netflix series 'The Glory' has finally been unveiled.
On December 22nd, Netflix series 'The Glory' (written by Kim Eun-Sook and directed by Ahn Gil-Ho) released official character posters for the upcoming drama. Song Hye-Kyo, Lee Do-Hyun, Yeom Hye-Ran and 9 other members from the cast list were unveiled.
'The Glory' is centered around a woman who was shaken and hurt by violence in her childhood, and risks her whole life to get her revenge on those who ruined her early life.
The background of the poster displays the ‘Devil’s Morning Glory’, which symbolizes the desire to protest against God’s will. The background portrays the emotions of those who have suffered and lived in darkness their whole lives.
Song Hye-Kyo plays the main character Dong-Eun, who is a victim of severe school violence during high school. In the poster, Dong-Eun’s face looks cold and troubled. The script on the poster reads, “for you to fall, for me to fall.”
Kim Eun-Sook explained, "I really wanted to express that even after time flows, Dong-Eun’s scars cannot be healed. Therefore, even though Dong-Eun’s voice tone is calm, she is actually screaming from the inside.”
Song Hye-Kyo added, "Through the narration, I wanted to create the feeling of whispering right next to Yeon-Jin."
Lee Do-Hyun plays the role of Yeo-Jeong and Yeom Hye-Ran plays the role of Hyeon-Nam, both involved in helping Dong-Eun to get her revenge.
Additionally, the full cast list was unveiled, including Lim Ji-Yeon who plays Yeon-Jin, Park Sung-Hoon who plays Jae-Joon, Kim Hee-Ra who plays Sara, Cha Joo-Young who plays Choi Hye-Jeong and Kim Gun-Woo who plays Myeong-Oh.
Amidst the group of perpetrators and supporters for Dong-Eun’s ultimate revenge, the anticipation is high for the upcoming release.
Writer Kim Eun-Sook and Director Ahn Gil-Ho remarked, “be sure to keep a look out for when and how by whom they are punished.”
In the meantime, 'The Glory' Part 1 will be released on Netflix on December 30th. Part 2 is scheduled to be revealed in March next year.
