On December 14th, former NMIXX member Jinni gradually disappeared from the official Instagram account of girl group NMIXX. The account is operated by the group’s agency, JYP Entertainment, and they have deleted Jinni’s individual photos that had been uploaded before Jinni ended her contract.
Netizens and fans of Jinni complained online, “deleting all of her photos is disrespectful” and “what did she do so wrong for this?”
However, some netizens defended that it was a professional goodbye from JYP Entertainment, just as they did for Kim Woo-Jin of Stray Kids.
On December 9th, JYP Entertainment officially announced that NMIXX’s Jinni had terminated her exclusive contract with the agency and would therefore no longer be a member of the group NMIXX.
As a result, NMIXX has been reorganized to a 6-member group including: Lily, Haewon, Sullyoon, Bae, Jiwoo, and Kyujin.
Soon after the announcement, on December 13th, NMIXX performed at the ‘2022 Asia Artist Awards in Japan’, making their first appearance as a 6-member group.
