On December 5th, Studio Dragon announced, "actors Kim Soo-Hyun and Kim Ji-Won have confirmed their role in Park Ji-Eun’s new drama, ‘The Queen of Tears’ (tentative title literally translated).”
The script has been written by Park Ji-Eun, who is famous for her previous successes, which includes ‘My Love from the Star’, The Legend of the Blue Sea’ and ‘Crash Landing on You.’
Director Jang Young-Woo, who directed ‘Crash Landing on You’ and ‘Impossible’, as well as director Kim Heewon, who directed ‘Vincenzo’ and ‘Little Women’, have teamed up for another anticipated success.
According to the plot, Kim Soo-Hyun and Kim Ji-Won will appear as a married couple to portray excitement, joy and heartbreaking episodes.
Kim Soo-Hyun will take on the role of Baek Hyun-Woo, the pride and face of Yongduri Village and the legal representative of Queens Group. The upcoming drama marks the third time Kim Soo-Hyun will work with Park Ji-Eun, and already the anticipation is high.
Kim Ji-won will play the role of Hong Hae-In, a 3rd generation conglomerate of the Queens Group. A spectacular love story will unfold with lover Kim Soo-Hyun.
An official from the drama said, "It will be a touching drama that will make the audience feel and realise the importance of family, in addition to Park Ji-Eun’s unique sense of humour.”
In the meantime, 'The Queen of Tears' is scheduled to premiere in the first half of 2023.
