On November 30th, BTS took home the 'Singer of the Year Award' and 'MAMA Platinum Award' at the '2022 MAMA Awards' ceremony held at the Kyocera Dome in Osaka, Japan. It would not be an understatement to say this award was the grand prize.
On this day, J-Hope stood on stage and made his speech on behalf of BTS. He expressed emotions of joy, saying, "To win four grand prizes for three consecutive years is just a dream. Many memories pass by like a kaleidoscope. This award is meaningful and will be remembered forever."
He then took out his mobile phone on the spot, saying, “Jin hyung says he has something he would like to say.”
Jin answered the phone and said, "I can’t believe you phoned me during your speech!”
Jin continued to greet the audience through the phone. He said, “Hello everyone. I am Jin of BTS. I am truly grateful to be honored with this award. Thank you to ARMY for your continuous support. I love you ARMY and of course my fellow members too.”
When J-Hope tried to hang up, Jin added, “There is still more to come”, which caused the audience to burst into laughter.
Jin mentioned his thought on enlistment and said, “I will not be able to meet you at an official event for quite a while, but I will come back with more exciting music and will do my best during my service in the army.”
After the broadcast, RM left his impression on his Instagram story.
He wrote, "Thank you for the King of all awards. ARMY, you did it. J-Hope was so cute. It was good to hear Jin make his speech via a phone call. #MAMA”
