Creative art director Min Hee-Jin's new girl group New Jeans will be releasing the music video for 'Cookie' from their debut album at 18:00 (KST) today.
New Jeans’ debut album includes a total of four songs titled, ‘Attention’, ‘Hype Boy’, ‘Cookie’ and Hurt.’
The first track, 'Attention', depicts the feeling of butterflies in your stomach when you fall in love with someone. The lyrics sing “pay attention to me” and has a catchy chorus which highlight the rich harmony of the five members.
The second track 'Hype Boy', is of an electro-pop genre and has a more chic mood to the song, in comparison with ‘Attention’. The listener can fully immerse themselves into the lyrics as they watch the music video of four episodes together.
The third song 'Cookie' is a dance-pop genre song based on a minimal hip-hop beat. “There is no food, even if I am hungry. No drinks, even if I'm thirsty. You know that you will only want sweet tastes like dessert.”
As expressed in these lyrics, New Jeans say they made their debut album as though they were baking cookies, and they hope that listeners will become addicted to their music like an addiction to delicious cookies.
The final song 'Heart' is an R&B genre song that has a trendy groove. The different characteristics of the members’ vocals are something to look out for.
The official release date for New Jeans' debut album is August 8th so keep in tune!
