K-pop creative director Min Hee-Jin has successfully launched a new girl group in town. Unlike the usual set up of introducing new artists into the industry (such as teasers and promotional posters or photoshoots), the first content that reached screens was a music video release.
Min Hee-Jin’s girl group 'New Jeans' released the music video for their debut single titled ‘Attention’, on the day of their debut, today on July 22nd.
'New Jeans' is the first girl group that has been created under the 'Hybe’ label 'Ador.’ Launched by former art director of SM Entertainment, this girl group is the first group Min Hee-Jin took charge of producing.
Hybe CBO Min Hee-Jin introduced the group by explaining the meaning behind the group’s name by saying, "Pop music is a culture that is very close to our daily life, so it is like the clothes we wear every day. Just as jeans have withstood the test of time and found popularity among many regardless of their age and gender, New Jeans aspires to become an icon of generations — one you never grow tiresome of putting on.”
The unveiled music video was almost like watching a high-teen movie. Five teenage girls appeared, visited a small theater, met boyfriends and danced in the middle of a sports ground.
The modern trendy melody of 'Attention' was ear-catching, and seems like a song that can be suitable everywhere. The chorus with a subtle groove made the tune unique.
In addition to the melody, all five members robbed eyes with their dazzling beauty. The hip styling of teenagers and their natural and rhythmic performance was also world class.
In addition to the title track 'Attention', the debut album includes four more songs including 'Hype Boy', 'Hurt', and ‘Cookie.’
New Jeans will unveil the performance music video for 'Attention' at noon today. At midnight on the 23rd music video for 'Hype Boy' will be released, as well as the unveil of the members’ names.
The debut album will be dropping charts on August 1st and album sales will start from August 8th.
