The girl group is back with another song to rock the season. This time, the girls transform into spring queens. The track is a spin-off of the classic “Air on the G String” by August Wilhelmj. The track is said to be exude a sophisticated air.
Red Velvet held an online press conference in honor of the release of their album, “The Reve Festival 2022 - Feel My Rhythm” at 2:00 pm on March 21st (KST).

◆ “The Love Festival 2022”
“The Love Festival 2022- Feel My Rhythm” is an outburst of musical skills. The “ReVe” derives from the French words of dream and fantasy.
Red Velvet are known to release music with different concepts. The group had released three albums starting from 2019 with different concepts every time. “Zimzalabim”, “Umpah Umpah”, and “Psycho.” The concept for the upcoming release is traveling through one’s mind. The group is expected to see another hit song.
Red Velvet were previously known to be “Summer Queens.” This spring however, is set to be the season of Red Velvet. Wendy remarked, “This album showcases all of the members’ best aspects.”
Leader Irene exclaimed, “It’ll be a new experience for all of us this spring. The ‘Reve Spring’ is meant to signify a new beginning. The cold weather of the winter and the warmth of the spring is what we plan on showing this comeback.”
The album is already arousing the anticipation of many. As of March 20th, pre-orders for the album had reportedly sold a total of 516,866 copies alone. The recent release is the highest feat for the group yet.
Seulgi further commented, “We had a good start to the day. We’ve come to realize even more that our fans had been waiting for us. We’d like to create even more memories together.”
◆ “Air on the G String, a familiarity and a freshness”
The album and title track is a spin-off rendition of Bach’s “Air on the G String.” “Feel My Rhythm” is a pop dance song made from the sample of the classic track. The track features an addictive trap beat.
The lyrics invite listeners to join the group to an adventure through the music. Wendy commented, “It’s a song that goes really well with the season of spring. One can feel both a similarity and a uniqueness.”
The idol further explained, “Red Velvet is a group that can take on many different concepts. We wanted to show a sophisticated and elegant side to us as ballerinas, taking on a more classic approach.”
Seulgi also expressed, “The track is great because it allows us to portray a variety of things and show different sides to us as a group.”
The idol also pointed out a key factor in the choreography. “There’s a little detail where we initiate a dance move in the form of a butterfly. It possesses elegance and a number of charms.”
The music video also drew inspiration from the classic “Air on the G String.” It takes the art of a famous painting and casted it as an opera. The release of the new album is a chance to portray even more of the group’s abilities.
Joy also remarked, “We filmed it as if we were a famous painting. It’s vibrant and also looks like an animation. The music video will have you wanting more.”
◆ “An air of freshness that comes with the title track”
“Feel My Rhythm” includes a total of six songs. The album is a mix of dance, R&B, and Ballad. Red Velvet gave us the inside scoop on the title track and background story of the album.
The first on the list is “Rainbow Halo.” The tune is an R&B pop track with hints of sounds of a bell, adding to the mysterious affect.
Wendy commented, "We expressed the feelings of love by utilizing a rainbow. It gives off a number of colors once you hear it. I had thought it came out well when I heard it."
"Beg For Me" is a pop dance genre. The track unfolds the story of a woman, boasting with confidence.
Seulgi commented, "It's reminiscent of old school music. It brings back feelings of emotions when you push and pull. The 2nd chorus is the key point. We especially recommend Joy's and Wendy's parts.
"Correct Line" is an exciting track. "Good, Bad, Ugly" is filled with optimistic messages. "In My Dreams" is a mysterious and enchanting track. The album consists of a variety of concepts.
Seulgi explained, "We had tried to bring every detail to life. That's most likelky why our recording session this time around took longer than usual. Everyone had walked out exhausted after it was over because we gave it our all."

This year marks the 9th year since the girl group's debut. However, every year they surprise us with something new. Whether it's refreshing, cute, lovely, enchanting, chic, or sexy.. they can transform and fit the mold for every concept.
These are one of the few reasons why Red Velvet is especially a cherished group. The members exclaimed, "There are many people waiting for our next release. We think it's because we don't always go one route in music."
